Beware; we have modern-day “Dick Turpins’” at work on our roads, not quite “Stand and deliver” at gun point, but there’s a striking similarity.

Innocent drivers who are not breaking any driving laws are the victims of a crime that is virulent around the country. These drivers are being ambushed.

This is what can happen:

You are following a vehicle up towards a junction, a roundabout or a slip road, the vehicle is old. Then you slam into the back of it because the old vehicle has suddenly stopped but a lack of brake lights means that you did not know.

There might be more than one car involved. The car in front of you might brake sharply because the second car pulls into its path on purpose.

If you discover that you have been a target of an illegal crash you can use a compensation lawyer to claim back your expenses.

These intentional collisions occur at busy road areas most of the time. The instigators of these incidents are skilled at pinning the blame on the innocent motorist. gangs are often behind these modern highwaymen and they are able to repair cars and have many vehicles working at once. These firms present falsely inflated invoices for work carried out, hire of a car whilst the car is off the road and so on. Then they will claim for compensation on the innocent motorist’s insurance which costs the innocent even more money. Often these criminals will make the claim bigger by having passengers in their car who all claim to be injured too. So the innocent are sometimes forced to find thousands of pounds to pay these criminals even though they have done nothing wrong.

insurers predict that there are at least 10,000 of these false claims and accidents made each year, and have put their guard up against them. With this in mind the Association of British Insurers have created an Insurance Fraud Bureau. The Bureau and the police work in conjunction to discover the gangs behind these road crimes and prosecute them.

Each day motorists and passengers are at risk from the work of these gangs. The criminals will be stopped when drivers, insurers and the police work together.

Partying it down in Las Vegas

Author: Darren Clark
02 28th, 2010

Las Vegas is the place to go when you are ready to let go and party and have a blast, everybody knows that that is the place to party. Las Vegas is commonly referred to as “sin city” because lots of different possibilities can occur that may be bad and that you may not have expected to happen when you first arrive there. Some of these things can include gambling issues, confrontational issues, or even temptation issues, but the most common tends to deal with an overactive intake of alcohol. Often time people are unable to control themselves and they end up calling for a Las Vegas DUI Attorney. A Las Vegas DUI lawyer can get you out of an unplanned situation and back to your normal life.

In Vegas it is a good idea to travel in a pack and not by yourself. Not having anyone there to help you or back you up when you need it can be really problematic. Whether you are overly intoxicated or stuck in a place that you do not want to be, you will probably need someone to assist you. Sometimes when that is not possible there are plenty of ways to get back to your hotel but that is something that can be uncomfortable. Even if you are not in Vegas it is still a good thing to have somebody there to help you if you potentially need it.

The worst possible scenario that could happen if you are overly intoxicated and you decide to drive anyways is being pulled over by an officer who notices your out of control driving. When you are intoxicated your mind is not one hundred percent conscious of your surroundings and different decisions you must make. Decisions like putting on your seatbelt and making sure to stop at stop signs can be evaded by your brain because it is not alert. This is how accidents happen and how bad decisions are made. Being pulled over for this cannot only lead to a ticket but an embarrassing breathalyzer test as well as the possibility of being convicted for driving drunk.

When you are in a bar or a club or even a casino there is a chance that you can lose control. Though you may not think it true, it is important to realize that there is a possibility. The best thing to do is to go along with a friend or be able to control yourself. If you do happen to get a little out of control it is critical to make sure that you do not drive until you are sober. If necessary leave your car in the parking lot and pick it up in the morning. It is a good thing to be cautious.

Causing an accident because of intoxication will cause so many consequences that can be hard to handle, especially if you have to deal with the fact that you may have injured or killed another person in an accident. Taking risks while intoxicated is not okay and you must enforce that for yourself.
